[Lidi] And I am Lidi Mocko with Mocko consulting and we are your small business CRM coaches.

[Kristen] And welcome to Mocko Mondays! Welcome to our first episode of our Mondays. Today we’re going to talk about business cards and what is your process for handling new network connections or business clients after you receive their cards. So, Lidi what are some stories that you can share with us on how your clients have stored their business cards?

[Lidi] Before implementing CRM one of our recent clients brought them in a little box like this and they’re all organized with their rubber bands and they look pretty good.

[Kristen] Would you be able to find the CPA in there?[Lidi] Let me see…here’s Teri, Skip… no he’s not a CPA Rachel she’s a broker associate. Kristen, I think it’s gonna take a while!

[Kristen] I agree and I know everyone has their own way of doing things. I know one of our other clients had a bag that they stored their business cards in. So, it might be a little bit difficult to manage all of your business cards you don’t have a system for what you do as soon as you receive it. So I know a lot of CRM providers offer mobile apps that you can just scan take 10 seconds and put the business card and then you can throw it away! You don’t have to worry about it. It’s in your system. A lot of them sync up and add them to your marketing list to see if they want to opt in or you can input them in other campaigns. What are some of the vendors that you know provided that?

[Lidi] Infusionsoft allows you to import up to 100 cards a month Insightly it depends on the subscription level it starts with 5 their limit is not as good as Infusionsoft, but it’s possible. Camcard is another provider that integrates well with Salesforce. And FullContact is another third-party provider that integrates with office 365.

[Kristen] Excellent! So we’d love to hear from you in the comments below of how you manage your business cards. And if you have these apps available to you with this feature, as of today, we recommend: get in the habit of as soon as you receive a
business card, scan it upload, and you’re done! It will make your life a lot easier and save your headache an end for when you need to reach out to that new contact.
